Warbs of Ames

At least 8 species of warblers were present this morning at Emma McCarthy Lee Park in Ames:

Golden-winged Warbler (1)
Tennessee Warbler (1)
Nashville Warbler (3)
Northern Parula
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler
Ovenbird (2)

Other sightings include:


Least Flycatcher (3)
Great Crested Flycatcher (2)
Blue-headed Vireo (1)
House & Carolina Wren
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher

Swainson's Thrush (20+)
Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Barred Owl
Bobolink (4 in full-song while flying over)
Purple Finch (1)
Pine Siskin

Back at home, we still have WHITE-CROWNED, LINCOLN'S, CHIPPING, and WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS.  We also saw our first GRAY CATBIRD in the yard this season.
